REPORT OF PADAVUKAL PROGRAM (SPC) HELD ON 09/11/2020
REPORT OF 'PADAVUKAL' PROGRAM HELD ON 09/11/2020
The
Eighteenth class under Padavukal program was held on 9th November
2020 . The class felt the presence of IGP P Vijayan IPS, Mohammed
Shafi along with Nandini, CPO , Pioneer Cadet Sandra and three
intellectuals - Kavya Jose, Anupama A S and Gowri.
All Birds find shelter during a rain.
But Eagle avoids rain by flying above
the Clouds. Problems are common, but approach makes the difference!!!
This
is apt in the case of Kavya and Anupama. They had fought against their
circumstances to rise to a greater position. Kavya Jose became one among
the three to get Prime Minister's Research Fellowship from Kerala.
After completing BSc physics, Anupama took a completely different path
and did MSc in neuroelectrophysiology. She surprised everyone with a
rank 1 in the final exam of the course. A Remarkable achievement
considering the fact that she came from a very different field!!
For
any outdoor enthusiast, the natural world is our playground. In these
environments, we truly find ourselves. Not only should we head to nature
to connect with ourselves, but we should also go there to connect with
the wealth of wonderful flora and fauna. Gowri is such a young nature
enthusiast who had utilised this lockdown period to know more about
nature. She observed everything, did a little Research and made YouTube
videos as part of it. In her Videos, she had been able to emphasize the
importance of nature and coexistence.
Kavya
initiated the talk. From an early age Kavya did have her own decisions
and she always followed her interest. She did not have a definite goal
at the beginning. But later she chose what is best for her and tried to
master it. She had an immense passion for research and found out that
IISER is a great opportunity. She worked hard and her hard work paid
off when she got into IISER Pune. Her path was not smooth. Her parents
friends and relatives had supported her throughout her journey. It was
clearly a teamwork.
Anupama
too had her own decisions. Living alone with her mother and sister had
made her strong enough to take her own decisions. Her sister was her
inspiration. She too had to face difficulties along her journey. She had
several options and opportunities after completing BSc physics. She
then decided to pursue her field of interest- neuro electrophysiology.
She admits that although initiallly she felt the heat, throught these
years she had truly enjoyed her learning experience. Passion and
Commitment is complementary when you choose such a field.
Gowri
is the youngest of the three. But her interest in nature and its
elements is fascinating. Covid opened the door of opportunity for Gowri.
It all started up when she got a bicycle as a gift and she really
wanted to ride It in the vacation period. But due to lock down, she
couldn't. That's when she decided to observe her surroundings. From ants
to fishes to bees and butterflies, gowri had been lately observing the
environment and studying about various phenomena. Her interest in nature
is beyond our imagination. She has a YouTube channel called 'Mind tree
vlogs' where she shares her experience and findings. Her mother and
father helps in videography.
Kavya
truly enjoyed her studies instead of taking them as a burden. The
greatest achievement in her journey was getting Prime Minister' s
Research Fellowship. Kavya also explained about different opportunities
in research.
Both
Anupama and Kavya encouraged Participating in such Cocurricular
activities. Looking back at history, only those who had confidence,
believed in himself and worked hard has been able to get into a Supreme
position.
The
programme came to an end with Little Gowri 's big message- to love
nature. To explore our surrounding and to learn from our experiences.
The program was good.

REPORT OF PADAVUKAL PROGRAM (SPC) HELD ON 2/11/2020
REPORT OF PADAVUKAL PROGRAM HELD ON 2/11/2020
The
Seventeenth class under Padavukal program was held on 2nd November
2020. The class felt the presence of IG P Vijayan IPS, Mohammed Shafi
along with O.R.C Project Officer Saif, SPC Pioneer Amrutha and three
achivers - Annies Joy IAS, Merin Joseph IPS and Radhika A K.
Shafi
Sir introduced the dignitaries. Annies Joy is a living example that
with our determination, we could get into any profession irrespective of
our family background and circumstances. Annies Kanmani Joy became one
of the first nurses to be selected as an IAS officer in 2012. Today ,
she is the Deputy Commissioner of Kodagu in Karnataka.
Merin was able to crack the exam at the very young age of 22 and she became the youngest lady IPS officer from Kerala.
Prevailing
from a remote village of Wayanad, Radhika is an inspiration to one and
all of us. Radhika is a part of a tribal community in Wayanad. She
became the first girl to clear CLAT exam in that community.
The
Class initiated with Annies Joy who shared with us her life story.
Being a bright student, Annies aspired to become a doctor. After
finishing her schooling, she wrote the Entrance examination but could
not a good rank enough to pursue MBBS in a Government collage and went
on to complete her graduation in nursing and became a nurse. She wished
to clear the Civil Service Examination. Realising that the
opportunities were limited, her parents supported her with guidance and
soon she cleared the exam in 2012. From fighting against the devastating
landslides to containing the spread of the novel coronavirus today,
Annies has been working hard to ensure the safety and security of her
people and she is suceessfull in it too. She is of the view that we
should always try to follow our passion and find joy in doing our job.
As student we should always tried to be a responsible citizen, enjoy our
surroundings, our nature along with our studies.
Radhika
comes from a primitive village in Wayanad. Never in her dreams had she
thought of clearing such a competitive exam like CLAT, considering
her own surrounding environment and limited oppurtunities. It all
started when Rajesh Sir from Legal Service Authority came to their
school as part of awareness program to spread awareness about such
competitive exam like CLAT. The awareness program was indeed friutful.
It boosted up her confidence like any thing and she was one of those
13 students who got the oppurtunity to undergo 3 month intense coaching
program. She took the oppurtunity and worked hard from waking up
early in the morning , helping in daily chores to studying all
throughout the evening. Nothing had successfully triggered her fire to
strive more and more for this. She kept negativity away and dreamt of a
bright future. Her hardwork had payed off when she came to know
that she achieved a 1022 rank in the exam! She advises us to never
waste time and to invest our time in a productive manner. She is truly
an inspiring personality.
Annies
Joy also shared with us the challenges she faced when she first
joined in kodangal in Karnataka as Deputy Commissioner. She also gives a
valuable advice to parents to believe in his / her child, to identify
their innate ablilties and talents and promote them.
“If
one woman can inspire a few other women, then they, in turn, can
inspire others. It all boils down to the initiative of a single
individual and rather than blaming the system, one can actually try to
effect changes.” – Merin Joseph IPS
Merin Joseph
was born in Ernakulam in Kerala but spent her childhood in the national
capital, Delhi. She studied at the Convent of Jesus and Mary School, New
Delhi. She completed her MA in History from St. Stephen’s College,
Delhi University.
Merin
Joseph cracked the civil services exam in 2012 with an all India rank
of 188. She cleared the exam after her post-graduation itself. Merin was
able to crack the exam at the very young age of 22 and she became the
youngest lady IPS officer from Kerala. Still with only 7 years of
experience as an IPS , she is doing a great job. Thinking that further
higher education would contribute to her proffesion, recently, she did
a Masters of public policy from Oxford. This was a new experience for
her. Learning is a life long process. The day you stop learning, you
stop living and we can grow only if we step out of our comfort zones.
She
is the ambassador of Y20 Engagement. She was one among the two officers
Selected by National Police Academy to go foriegn for this purpose.
In
2016, she got a unique chance to lead the Independence day parade.
She grabbed public attention when she went all the way to Riyadh, Saudi
Arabia, to arrest a child-rape accused, who had been on the run for 2
years. Those were the golden moments in her career .
The
three of them are highly inspirational. They rose up against their
Circumstances to attain this position. The class was good. Sindhumol
teacher, ACPO said the vote of thanks and the program came to an end.

Report on 'Padavukal', a Programme by SPC Team.
REPORT OF PADAVUKAL PROGRAM HELD ON 19/10/2020
The
fifteenth class under Padavukal program was held on 19th October 2020.
The class felt the presence of IG P Vijayan IPS, Mohammed Shafi along
with O.R.C Project Officer Saif, SPC Pioneer Amrutha and three gifted
personalities- Ayisha S, Lulu A and Saanvi.
Shafi
Sir and Vijayan Sir introduced the day's personalities. Ayisha came
first in the recent NEET exam conducted by N T A followed by Lulu A who
came in the second position. Saanvi is a 11 year old energetic girl who
reached out to Asia book of Records by cooking 33 dishes in just one
hour! Vijayan Sir also emphasized the importance of participating in
cocurricular activities along with academics. Parents should always
encourage such activities and try to identify their passion and promote
them.
The Class started
with Aisha. She completed her Secondary Level education in a government
school. She wished to be a doctor from an early age and had immense
respect for the profession. She was determined enough to go for repeat
after her first attempt at NEET promised her a good mark but not a MBBS
Seat. She wanted to improve her rank and Marks to get into a Government
Medical collage .
Lulu
too faced similar hurdles in her jorney. Many questioned her as to why
waste a year. But She was resolved to go for it. She went for proper
coaching and came back sucessfull.
It
is a common belief that completing our higher secondary level education
in a Government School is not going to yield us a good rank. But both
Aisha and Lulu had proven them wrong. They had received immense
support from their teachers in Schools which helped them during their
journey.
Saanvi
is totally a vibrant energetic girl who has suceesfully made her way
into Asia Book of Records by Cooking 33 dishes in just 1 hour. Her
happiness was undescribable and dreams unlimited. She used to get
curious whenever her uncle or mother cooked Something in the kitchen.
Like those many who have uncovered their talents in this pandemic
period, Saanvi too had started Cooking in this lockdown. Her family had
supported throughout. Cooking is a risky job for a 11 year old. But her
parents encouraged her to cook and provided her with safety equipments.
Her mother is also a great cook and has been a great support for her.
Besides Cooking, her hobbies include horse riding and Bharathanatyam.
Lulu
also explained about NEET exam and its pattern. NCERT textbooks are
preffered for NEET preparation. They also shared us with us their
startagies for NEET Preparation. Aisha used to wake up at 4 every
morning and followed a strict timetable for considering time management
for each subject. She used to practise by attending a mock test daily
and had given more than 100 mock test over the lockdown period which
boosted up her confidence. Lulu too followed similar stratagies to get
to her dream. They are highly inpirational. Rising from 85,000 and
60,000(rank) to few among the firsts is not as easy as it is said. Their
hardwork had payed off.
'If i can cook, you can cook too' ,Saanvi said her final words as the program came to a beautiful end.
Carolin
teacher(ACPO) from Our School got the unique oppurtunity to present the
vote of thanks. CPO Vinukumaran Nair and Cadets Aadhya Ajai, Parvathi P
nair and Salma S from our School also participated in the meeting.
