Report on meeting through Google Meet.

“The voyage of discovery is not in seeking new landscapes but in having new eyes”
                                         - Marcel Proust

Being a part of such a great initiative by the English Club of G.G.H.S.S, Cotton Hill, is indeed a amazing platform for students like us to realize and showcase our hidden talents and bring it towards the light. Under the guidance of very dedicated faculties, Binuraj sir [Department of Literature], Naveen sir [Department of Economics], and Geetha Devi teacher [Department of Literature], we the aspiring members of the Blog Committee are truly unstoppable even in this great Pandemic.Unfortunately we are unable to meet physically, but in a world which has advanced technology, humans try to find new doors to success. Such a door has opened in front of us. Google has indeed provided space for us to meet virtually through the widely used app the “Google Meet”.
On 11th July,2020 by 7pm our respected faculties organised a blog committee meeting through Google Meet. We welcomed our new Principal Leena Teacher through this meet to be a part of our voyage. The motive behind this meeting was to take up decisions on the further progress of the blog. By 7:05 pm all the students including the faculties were present and we all togetherly greeted our new Principal, to be a strong part of this committee. At the beginning, our beloved English sir and the pillar of our committee Binuraj sir welcomed us all and he gave a short introduction on the meeting. Then Miss. Ankitha D Shiv [HA2] delivered a brief description to our principal about the blog and its activities which was conducted the previous year. Later on each and every students introduced themselves to Leena Teacher.
Then came the most awaited moment for us. We were indeed very much excited to hear the words of our new principal. She was very much excited about the committee and be a part of it, as her words suggested it. She expressed her happiness and joy to be a part of this ship and appreciated the efforts of the teachers and students. She also assured all her support in the further progress of the committee. Her words indeed filled confidence in each of our hearts. Later on our lovable Malayalam teacher, Geetha teacher too assured her support and wished us good luck in taking this blog forward. Finally our backbone of this blog Naveen sir who is our economics sir shared his thoughts and ideas on the future aspects of the blog. We had a general discussion for more than half and hour on this year’s upcoming programmes. We shared our ideas and also cleared our doubts regarding the future function of the blog.
At the end of the discussion we came up with few decisions on the future programmes of the blog committee. They are:
1) We have decided to use the ‘Study Room’, which is a sub-page of our blog in more effective way by adding up more informative notes and topics.
2) We have also decided to involve the creativity of students who are not a part of this committee too into this blog.[Stories, articles, poems etc are welcomed].
3) We have decided to conduct the ‘Know your Teacher’ programme through google meet itself.
4) Discussions on creating a YouTube channel is also going on.
5) Weekly Book Review will continue online from the next week itself.
6) We decided to invite eminent writers and also health workers to have a intraction with the students.
7) Thoughts on digital magazine/school journal is also going on.
8) We’ll also go through the possibilities of creating a Short film.

By 8:00pm we came to an end of the discussion. This meeting was really very much necessary because we needed to continue with the activities of our blog even when the whole world is trying to tackle this deadly pandemic by being safe in our home. We thank the teachers behind this for the efforts they have taken to keep us live regarding the blog.
                        Thank you!
