Report on the Class on 'Nutritional Food for Teenage Girls', Organised by SPC

“It is health that is real wealth and not pieces of gold and silver”

On 9th August 2020, the Student Police Cadet organisation arranged an interactive class on the topic ‘Nutritional Food for Teenage Girls’ which was taken by Smt. Seena A.P, Department of Home Science, G.G.H.S.S, Cotton Hill through google meet. By 7pm we all were ready in our respective PT uniforms and we welcomed Seena Teacher who was indeed very much energetic to be a part of our journey. Our CPO’s Carolin teacher and Vinu sir welcomed all of us to the meeting. By 7:15pm Seena teacher started her presentation. It was indeed an interactive session as she started by asking us our opinion about health and signs of having good health.

She also discussed about the diet and what all should we include in our diet. We were also given awareness about the reason to be under weight and also over weight or obese. She the discussed about the 6 classes of nutrients ie, Carbohydrates, Proteins, Fats, Vitamins, Minerals and Water. She also briefed about the branches of vitamins and necessary food items which include those vitamins. Then she explained the balanced diet chart and the food groups and the quantity of those foods that we must include in our diet. Also she warned us about the usage of junk foods and its consequences in our body.

By 8:15pm she winded up her presentation and provided us time to clear our doubts regarding the food we eat. Most of the cadets came up with their queries, to which Seena teacher responded without any delay. By the end of her presentation I was able to understand that, we must not focus on the quantity we eat, instead we must concentrate on what we eat. For me personally this class was very much required, because as we all are in our houses due to this pandemic, we used to consume more than what we usually do. So this class helped me to understand the necessary food that we must have, and what to avoid.

I thank the Student Police Cadet organisation of our school for arranging such a valuable class and also Seena teacher for providing valuable information regarding our diet and nutrition. I hope more such classes to be provided to us by the SPC through google meet.

                   THANK YOU!
